Casey Saverio hit for the cycle and junior first baseman
Dylan Tamecki clubbed a pair of home runs, leading East Stroudsburg University to a 19-12 win in the second game on Sunday's PSAC East doubleheader vs. Mansfield.
ESU (22-11, 10-10) and Mansfield (4-18, 3-11) split doubleheaders both days at ESU to split this season's four-game series.
Mansfield won the first game both days, 7-0 on Saturday and 6-5 on Sunday. ESU won game two on Saturday, 9-2.
The Mounties scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win Sunday's opener.
ESU responded with a 22-hit attack in game two. The first five hitters in the Warriors' lineup combined to go 18-for-25 with 15 RBI and 15 runs, and reached base in 22 of 30 plate appearances.
Saverio tripled in the first inning, had a double and a single as part of a six-run fourth inning, and homered in the seventh inning to complete ESU's first cycle since Joe Bennie at Dowling on March 15, 2013. Bennie's cycle was ESU's first in at least 10 years.
Saverio, a transfer from DI Monmouth, secured his cycle with his first career home run.
Tamecki had his second two-homer game of the season, also doing it vs. Kutztown on March 16.

Jay Young was 3-for-5 (2 RBI, 2 runs), Saverio was 4-for-5 (4 RBI, 4 runs), sophomore OF
Ian Allen was 3-for-5 (2 RBI, 4 runs), Tamecki was 4-for-5 (5 RBI, 3 runs) and redshirt junior OF
Matt Walewski was 4-for-5 (2 RBI, 2 runs) in game two.
Allen was 3-for-3 on stolen bases in both games, going 5-for-9 with six stolen bases in the doubleheader.
ESU had 31 hits on the day and hit .365 in the series. Tamecki was 8-for-13 (.615) with three homers and 12 RBI and Allen (.467, 7-15), Young (.429, 6-14), Saverio (.417, 5-12) and Walewski (6-15, .400) all hit .400 or better.
ESU hosts Wilmington in a single 9-inning non-conference game on Thursday.
GAME 1 - L 6-5ESU took a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh on an RBI single by Tamecki, but Mansfield scored two runs on three hits and three walks in the bottom half to win it on an RBI single by Scott Rockwell.
Allen allowed just two earned runs (four total) in 6.0 innings on the mound, struck out 10 and walked only one batter in another strong start for the Warriors.
ESU led 2-1 after the first inning on a two-out, two-RBI double by Walewski, and 4-1 after the fourth on a two-out, two-RBI single by Tamecki.
Mansfield tied it at 4-4 with three runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Allen (2-for-4, two runs, 3 stolen bases) and Tamecki (3-for-4, 3 RBI) produced in the middle of the ESU lineup.
Sophomore closer
Tyler Eckman suffered his first loss of the season. Eckman already holds ESU's single-season record with nine saves in 2015.
Mansfield had 14 hits, 11 off Allen and three off Eckman. Anthony Renz was 3-for-4 in the cleanup spot.
GAME 2 - W 19-12 ESU scored multiple runs in five of its seven innings and held off Mansfield after building an 11-0 lead through the top of the fourth.
Senior
Andrew Furber improved to 3-0 on the mound, blanking Mansfield in its first three innings before scoring three runs in the fourth.
Saverio had an RBI triple, scored on an RBI single by Allen, and Walewski plated Allen with a sacrifice fly for a 3-0 lead after the first inning.

The Warriors scored six runs on eight hits in the fourth. Saverio had a leadoff single and later plated the inning's sixth run with an RBI double. Allen doubled, Tamecki singled and Walewski, junior DH

Mansfield made it 11-3 after the fourth and 11-7 after the fifth, before ESU scored four runs in the top of the sixth.
Freshman 2B
Aden Tully walked, stole second and scored on an RBI single by Allen, then Tamecki hit a three-run homer for his second long ball of the game and a 15-7 lead.
Mansfield got five runs back in the bottom of the sixth, capped by a three-run homer by Jacob Molison, to cut ESU's lead to 15-12.
The Warriors scored four more in the top of the seventh. Tully doubled, stole third and scored on an RBI single by Young before Saverio's two-run homer to center completed his cycle. Allen walked, stole second and third and scored on a groundout by Tamecki.
