ESU Men’s Basketball Advances to PSAC Quarterfinals with 82-59 Win vs. Lock Haven

EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior forward Rasheed Moore scored 19 points, leading four players in double figures, as East Stroudsburg University advanced to the PSAC men's basketball quarterfinals with an 82-59 win vs. Lock Haven on Saturday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Moore was 9-for-14 from the field to lead the Warriors (21-6), the PSAC East's No. 3 seed, who will play at No. 2 seed West Chester (21-5) on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. as part of a doubleheader. ESU's women's team advanced with a 79-69 (OT) win vs. Bloomsburg and will play at West Chester at 5:30 p.m.

Redshirt senior guard Will Brown, senior guard Jamal Nwaniemeka and redshirt junior guard Quindell Brice scored 11 points each for ESU.

Sophomore guard Ryan Krawczeniuk had eight assists, part of a strong bench effort that include Brice's 11 points, eight from freshman guard Nick Giordano, six points and four rebounds by senior forward Wes Cherry and six points and three rebounds by junior forward Sultan Aminu.

ESU led 41-27 at halftime on the strength of a 15-0 run midway through the first half, and stretched its lead to 20 points (55-35) by the 13-minute mark of the second half.

The Warriors held Lock Haven (12-15) to 32.2 percent (19-for-59) from the field with 22 turnovers.

ESU shot 46.2 percent (30-for-65), including 55.2 (16-for-29) in the first half, and committed just 12 turnovers.

The Warriors will look for their seventh straight PSAC Final Four appearance on Tuesday at West Chester. ESU and California (1992-97) are the only teams to reach six straight PSAC Final Four's in the last 35 years.

ESU won both meetings vs. WCU in the regular season, 87-60 on the road on January 9 and 88-83 on February 10 at Koehler Fieldhouse.
