ESU Places Two on All-PSAC East Women’s Tennis Team

EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University landed two players on the All-PSAC East women's tennis singles team in senior Rabecca Lausch and junior Annie Vega in voting by the division's coaches, the conference has announced.

Lausch (Carlisle/Carlisle) went 12-7 in singles action, primarily at No. 3, where she was 9-4. She finishes her career with a singles record of 24-35 and holds a 25-31 mark in doubles competition. She was 5-13 in doubles this year and 5-9 at No. 1, primarily with sophomore Allison Bean.

Vega (Hawley/Wallenpaupack) was 9-8 in singles, going 1-1 at No. 3, 6-3 at No. 4 and 2-3 at No. 5 in dual action. She had ESU's top doubles record at 12-8, including a 7-1 record with sophomore Taylor Presby.  Vega is 13-26 in singles and 28-24 in doubles entering her senior season.

Lausch and Vega were both 5-1 in division matches, contributing 10 of the Warriors' 15 singles wins. ESU's singles lineup was 15-21 against PSAC East competition.

ESU (5-12, 2-4 PSAC East) matched PSAC East regular season champion Kutztown, which went undefeated in divisional play, with two singles selections. Playoff teams Millersville and West Chester were also represented on the All-PSAC East team. ESU's PSAC East wins came over Cheyney (9-0) and Shippensburg (5-4).

The Warriors had last year's PSAC East Athlete of the Year in No. 1 singles player Amanda Kaufman.

Kutztown, Millersville and West Chester had doubles teams selected. Kutztown's Ridhima Borooah was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Year and Bloomsburg's Caitlyn Flynn, who was not selected to an all-conference team in singles or doubles, was Freshman of the Year. Millersville's Shari-Bucklin-Weber was named Coach of the Year.

California, which won its seventh straight PSAC team title, had the PSAC West's Athlete of the Year (Luci Sipkova), Freshman of the Year (Alexandra Borgenhoff) and Coach of the Year (Pablo Montana).
