st & 10 ...  Complete Game Notes (PDF)

• ESU (7-3) hosts Mercyhurst (6-4) on Senior Day at Eiler-Martin Stadium. The Warriors can finish the 2013 season with 8+ wins for the 7th time in the last 12 years, and win their 4th straight game going into 2014, with a victory over the Lakers.

• Today's game is one of three across the PSAC between teams with winning records. Bloomsburg (9-1) hosts Slippery Rock (9-1) in the State Game, and Shippensburg (7-3) hosts IUP (8-2).

• This is the 2nd meeting between the two schools. Mercyhurst won 52-45 last year in a game that featured 1,055 total yards.

• ESU R-So. QB Matt Soltes and Mercyhurst R-So. TB Brandon Brown-Dukes were the Freshmen of the Year in the PSAC East and West, respectively, last season. Both have followed up with impressive sophomore seasons. Brown-Dukes did not play in Mercyhurst's 23-20 win at California last week and his availability for this week is unknown.

• ESU is on a school-record pace for several offensive categories, including: scoring offense (42.9 ppg - record 42.5 in 2005) ... total offense (526.9 ypg - record 509.1 ypg in 1996) ... 1st downs per game (26.6 - record 23.9 in 2005) ... yards per rush (5.2 - record 5.2 in 2004) ... fewest turnovers per game (0.8 - record 1.3 in 2001).

• Head coach Denny Douds is 3rd on the DII all-time wins list with 244 career victories after wins the last 3 weeks. Douds holds the PSAC record for wins and is 23rd in college football history.

• Soltes is the region's only QB, and one of 2 in DII, to rank in the top 10 in the nation in total offense (8th - 347.1 ypg), passing (9th - 302.3 ypg) and pass efficiency (9th - 173.3). He has a TD-to-interception ratio of 34-for-3, after throwing 6 TD's in last week's 66-7 win vs. Millersville.

• Soltes has 6,629 yards of total offense in his career, 2nd-most in PSAC history through a QB's sophomore year behind ESU's Jimmy Terwilliger (7,634). He can become the 5th DII sophomore with 7,000 career yards with 371 yards this week, and is averaging 370.0 yards in 17 career starts.

• R-Fr. TB Robert Healy (1,063 yards) is 46 yards from ESU's freshman rushing record [1,109 - Stewart Ford, 1997], and 97 yards from the single-season rushing record [1,160 - Andre Castiglioni, 2001]. If he reaches Castiglioni's mark, he would be the only freshman at a current PSAC institution to hold his school's single-season rushing record.

• Sr. K Taylor Groff holds ESU's career record for kicking points with 301, surpassing Mark Brubaker (287, 2002-05). He has 49 field goals, one from the mark of 50 held by Ed Detwiler (1989-92).
