EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University men's basketball program will partner with Halterman's Toyota Scion in January and February, with $5 from each oil change at Halterman's Express Lube on Route 447 in East Stroudsburg going towards the Warriors' “Man Up Against Cancer” campaign to support the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center at Pocono Medical Center.

This marks the third year of the “Man Up Against Cancer” campaign, the center of the Warriors' community service outreach under head coach Jeff Wilson. The program will also initiate educational programs and presentations with local elementary and middle schools in coordination with the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center and Pocono Medical Center.

“Our program is proud to represent ESU and partner with Halterman's in raising money and awareness for the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center,” said Wilson. “This ongoing partnership benefits everybody in the Stroudsburg community in the fight against cancer.”

To support the program, just visit the Halterman's Express Lube on Route 447 from January 9 through February 29 and ask for the “29 Minute Express Lube”. A reduced rate of $24.95 for a standard oil change (synthetic and diesel extra) is offered for individuals with identification cards from ESU or Pocono Medical Center. Halterman's Express Lube is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is the second phase of the program's partnership with the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center and Pocono Medical Center. The program donated $1,500 to the center in 2006, which provides a full range of cancer treatment services to patients throughout the Pocono Region and surrounding areas. The Warriors have sold “Sixth Man” t-shirts with a “Man Up Against Cancer” logo during the last two seasons.
