Karen Cash has been named the PSAC Women's Golfer of the Year after claiming three medalist honors and tying for third at the PSAC Championships in her first season for the Warriors.
Cash (Allendale, N.J./Northern Highlands) posted a 79.7 stroke average in 11 rounds this year and was the top finisher at the Clarion Invitational and Lancaster Intercollegiate Classic in the fall and the ESU Invitational in the spring.
She also had top five placements at the PSAC Championships, West Chester's Edwin Cottrell Invitational (4th) and the Kutztown Invitational (t-5th) after placing 10th in her first collegiate tournament at Mercyhurst.
Cash held the 18-hole lead at the second annual PSAC Championships at Hershey Links Golf Club, carding a first-round 73, and shot a 78 on Sunday to tie for third.
Maria Lopez of PSAC champion California was named the Freshman of the Year and West Chester's Doug Hendricks was recognized as the Coach of the Year. Lopez was second in the PSAC, third in the Atlantic Region and placed 39th at the NCAA Championships, while Hendricks led West Chester to a third-place finish at the PSAC Championships in his first year with the Golden Rams.
