EAST STROUDSBURG – Senior Drew Miller has been named East Stroudsburg University's Championship Award Guys Athlete of the Week for his performance at last weekend's PSAC outdoor track and field championships.

Miller (Lewisburg/Lewisburg) won his fifth career title in the triple jump on Saturday after placing third in the long jump on Friday. His five PSAC championships are the fourth-most in school history and include both the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2008 and 2010, along with the indoor crown in 2009.

Miller is one of seven ESU athletes who were selected to compete in the NCAA Championships on May 27-29 at UNC Charlotte, and the only one to make the field in two events. The Warriors' five men's entrants comprise a quarter of the field who will represent the PSAC, not including the 4x100m relay team.

Miller had an automatic qualifying mark of 50-8 3/4 in the triple jump, tied for fifth in Division II, and a provisional mark of 23-11 3/4 in the long jump, tied for 15th. He hit both of his top jumps this year at Lock Haven's Elliston Invitational two weeks ago, and had marks of 49-5 1/2 and 23-3 3/4 at the PSAC meet.

He will be competing in an NCAA championship meet for the fourth time in his career following two trips in 2008 and a bid to the indoor championships in Albuquerque, N.M. this season. He is second behind three-time All-American Lenny Jenkins on both of ESU's all-time lists in the triple jump and is in the top six on the long jump lists.

Miller is ESU's first men's athlete to be selected to compete in two events in the NCAA's in at least 25 years. The Warriors have sent five women's athletes in multiple events in that time span – Tina Vosper (1999), Shavanna Ross (2001), Vanessa Andes (2004-05) and Leslie Martin (2007).
