O’Hara Earns Second PSAC East Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Honor

EAST STROUDSBURG – Junior Molly O'Hara has been named the PSAC East Lacrosse Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after leading East Stroudsburg University into Tuesday's PSAC quarterfinal game at Bloomsburg.

O'Hara (Glen Mills/Penncrest) scored 13 goals, handed out two assists and gathered 13 draw controls as the Warriors went 2-1 last week, including a 12-9 win at Shippensburg on Saturday that clinched the program's second appearance in the PSAC playoffs in her first three seasons.

O'Hara scored five goals against the Raiders, with the final three coming in the last 10 minutes, to help ESU tie the school record with its 11th win of the season. She also added an assist and two draw controls.

She opened the week on Monday with five goals, one assist and four draw controls in a 16-8 win over Georgian Court, which entered the game with a 13-1 record. She added three goals and seven draw controls in the Warriors' 16-9 loss to PSAC East regular season champion West Chester on Wednesday.

O'Hara scored 54 goals in the regular season, fourth in the PSAC and the fourth-most in a season in school history. She found the net 25 times over the final six games, including five hat tricks and four five-goal games, and leads active ESU players with 120 goals, 144 points and 25 hat tricks. She also has eight assists for a team-high 62 points and is tied for the team lead with 38 draw controls.
