EAST STROUDSBURG – Junior Jamie Ferrigno has been named the PSAC East Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week after posting a pair of straight sets wins in singles for East Stroudsburg University in two matches last weekend.

Ferrigno (West Grove/Avon Grove) gives ESU two of the first three athletes of the week in the PSAC East, joining doubles partner Katie D'Ambrosia who was honored two weeks ago.

Ferrigno won both of her matches at No. 3 singles and went 1-1 at No. 1 doubles with D'Ambrosia in matches at Holy Family and Goldey-Beacom. The Warriors fell 6-3 at Holy Family and posted an 8-1 win at Goldey-Beacom, which is ranked No. 7 in the ITA East region.

The doubles team of Ferrigno and D'Ambrosia is 13-4 this season, including an 11-2 mark in duals that featured seven straight wins before they lost 8-4 at Holy Family. They are 39-19 in their careers and have been named as an All-PSAC doubles team in both of their first two years.

Ferrigno has a 12-5 record in singles and is 42-15 in her career at ESU. She played at No. 4 as a freshman and has been at No. 3 for the last two years.

The Warriors are 8-5 on the season and 5-3 this spring. They will play their PSAC East opener on Wednesday at Millersville.
