"Hearts for Haiti" auction site
EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University's “Hearts for Haiti” auction, which includes a basketball autographed by the Warriors' record-setting 2009-10 men's basketball team along with baskets put together by campus departments, has passed the Wednesday, 12 p.m. deadline.
All proceeds from the auction benefit Haitian earthquake victims through a campus-wide initiative. The automated silent auction capability allowed users to check the current value of their items and enter a maximum bid so they can stay ahead of the competition.
The autographed basketball was just one of 30 items available on the auction site, along with themed baskets donated by individuals and departments from ESU's campus community.
Individuals who placed bids on items can check on the final status by clicking on the link at the top of this release. Winning bidders will also be contacted via e-mail for details on picking up their items.
The basketball was signed by the coaches and players on this year's team, including PSAC East Coach of the Year, assistant coach
Justin Potts, All-PSAC East selections
Andy Heimbach and
Robby Pines and PSAC East Freshman of the Year
Terrance King.
The Warriors won a school record 24 games, played in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in school history, won a share of their first PSAC East regular season championship since 1992 and played in the PSAC Final Four for the first time since the same season.
