3/18/2010 12:00:00 AM

EAST STROUDSBURG – The ESU Warriors Sports Report will air four times over the next week on Blue Ridge TV-13 as the Warriors' coaches and student-athletes take a look at the spring sports season that is just underway.

The hour-long program is scheduled to air on Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m., Monday at 4 p.m. and the following Saturday (March 27) at 2 p.m.

Bob Capasso, the sports director at Blue Ridge, ESU's head coaches and selected student-athletes share their thoughts on their expectations for their seasons, and several of the Warriors' teams that will contend for PSAC playoff spots this spring are already off to strong starts.

The softball team is looking for its fourth straight trip to the postseason, the baseball program is in the midst of a seven-game winning streak, and the lacrosse, men's and women's tennis teams have all made PSAC playoff appearances in the past two years. The track and field teams both had strong finishes during the indoor season, with the men finishing second in the PSAC, and seven athletes competed in the NCAA championships.

ESU had four PSAC athletes of the week this week – Molly O'Hara (lacrosse), Katie D'Ambrosia (tennis), Brittany Racek (softball) and Christian Saveri (baseball) – to get off to an outstanding start to the spring season.

The Warriors wrapped up their winter sports calendar last week with three All-Americans, Lynn Mayer and Negus Graham in track and field and Shane Mallory in wrestling, along with the second NCAA tournament appearance in school history by the men's basketball team.
