EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University men's basketball program has announced that it is partnering with the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center at the Pocono Medical Center to “Man Up Against Cancer”.
The partnership stems from the “Sixth Man” support section at the Warriors men's basketball games. T-shirts will be sold for $10 with a “Man Up Against Cancer” logo with the proceeds benefitting the Hughes Cancer Center, which provides a full line of cancer treatment services to patients throughout the Pocono Region and surrounding areas.
The ESU men's basketball program donated $1,500 to the Hughes Cancer Center in 2006 through the sale of “True Warrior” bracelets.
“This most recent initiative will span two years with the hope of furthering a relationship with the Stroudsburg community in the fight against cancer,” said ESU men's basketball head coach
Jeff Wilson. “Within our program, a great number of players and coaches have been affected by this disease, and we would like to try to do our part to raise money and awareness to support the Hughes Cancer Center.”
T-shirts will be available immediately at the Warriors' home games at Koehler Fieldhouse through the remainder of the 2009-10 season, or by contacting Coach Wilson at (570) 422-3339 or
