Matt Freed are the three most recent recipients of East Stroudsburg University's Championship Award Guys Athlete of the Week for their contributions to the Warriors.
Heimbach (Allentown/Central Catholic) set the school record for career three-pointers for the ESU men's basketball program in the season opener and currently has 179 in his career. He has 19 three's in the first seven games this year, shooting 47.5 percent from behind the arc, as the Warriors are off to an undefeated start, and leads ESU in scoring with 13.7 points per game.
Swiker (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) has won the 400 IM for the swimming team in all four meets it has been contested in this year, including a season-best of 4:46.75 to win the Longnecker Invitational at Grove City College last weekend. She has also excelled in the 200 IM, 200 fly, 200 back and 200 free while looking to peak for the PSAC Championships in February, where she made the championship finals in three events last season.
Freed (Souderton/Souderton) became the third player in ESU football history to earn first team All-America status in consecutive seasons, joining former standouts Jimmy Terwilliger and Evan Prall, when he was named to the Daktronics NCAA Division II squad this week. The redshirt junior outside linebacker had 132 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss and 10 sacks this year and was also a first team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American.
