EAST STROUDSBURG – Junior outside hitter Alyson Stark was named to the PSAC East Women's Volleyball second team for the second straight season after leading East Stroudsburg University in kills and aces during the 2009 season, it was announced Thursday.

The junior had three double-doubles, including 26 kills and 30 digs over two matches at Shepherd, and was the first PSAC East Player of the Week this fall. She also recorded 13 kills, 15 digs and a career-high eight aces vs. St. Rose.

Stark averaged 2.6 kills per set as a sophomore and recorded 307 kills, 33 aces, 158 digs and 58 blocks on her way to the first all-conference honor of her career. She had 225 kills (2.9 per set) as a freshman.

Stark will enter her senior year with 706 career kills, 134 blocks and 76 aces and is approaching ESU's top 10 in all three categories. She also carries a 3.85 grade-point average in Chemistry and has been nominated for Academic All-District honors in each of the last two years.
